Crochet completion!

Hello isn't it chilly this week, but so lovely to see the sun and have some decent light to take photographs in.
So anyway whilst all the bedroom decorating was taking place I was busy with a couple of projects.
A nice relaxing granny blanket in restful blues and greens.
This is a really late Birthday gift for my dad and just in time as he really feels the cold, he'll love snuggling under this while he watches the rugby!

I used Stylecraft yarn, I just adore the range of colours and the way it drapes is wonderful.

It's been a joy to create, a real stressbuster.

And my other project has been created by me from scratch.
Dyed the yarn, spun the yarn and then knitted it into this fabulous poncho using this gorgeous pattern from Churchmouse Yarns and Teas

Now the eagle eyed amongst you will notice that it is knitted.
I know two needles, blimey haven't done that for a few years

It was very simple, it would have to be I'm a real dunce when it comes to the two needle tango.
Slow too, soooo slow, but I must admit I really enjoyed the change.
Of course I couldn't not do any crochet so I added a pretty pointy crochet border just to finish it off.

It's been a delightful and satisfying project from start to finish. I love the whole process from the dyeing and spinning to the knitting!
I love the way the colours change and merge, it's got blues greens browns a bit of purple, beautiful!
I can't wait to start another spinny project. I can't wait to do some more dyeing.
I can't wait to make something else!!!!!

I shall be wearing my poncho alot.

Have another look at it's gorgeousness

Feel how soft it is

How it drapes ( can't beat merino)

Yup it's stunning!

I'm off to swan around Sainsburys in it now, look out for me I'll be the one with the huge smile on my face wafting up and down the isles!
Have a good day

Bedroom All Finished!

Well my friends it was
How gorgeous!
The bed finally arrived on Valentines Day very romantic.
I am so delighted with the whole effect, calm and peaceful a real haven.

I really love how the fireplace turned out, so glad we kept it, the mirror is one we've had kicking around forever and is now given pride of place.
Just a bit of faffing required with a few pretty thing to complete the look.

I'm completely in love with the wallpaper it was ridiculously expensive but sooooooooooo
worth it, makes me hap, hap, happy looking at it. I think it's a real mood lifter!
And that bed is unbelievably comfy, OMG so comfy.
Even after only two sleeps we are feeling revived and full of energy.

We also revamped an old brass chandelier, well I say we but really it was the work of Lovely man.
We've had this in our garage for literally years, unloved and hidden.
Lovely Man did an amazing paint job on it and now it's just perfect.

Now I know what you're thinking.
What a strange choice of bulbs?
It is isn't it. Well truth to tell these were all we had in our bulb box so they are just temporary.
The other thing you need to know is that it's waiting for some serious bling in the form of vintage chandelier drops, that's if I win them, fingers crossed to the E- Bay gods!

So what do you think?
D'you like?
I know last time we spoke I was a bit down in the dumps but I'm all cheerful now.
Nothing like a beautiful bedroom to cheer a girl up!
I'll let you know how the chandelier turns out. I'm spending the week having a massive sort out and catching up on my crochet projects.
I've got an exciting reveal for you very soon.

All finished and waiting to be blocked, come back soon and have a little look!

Bedroom Update

I know it's been ages since I last visited you.
I don't seem to be able to keep up with things at the moment, way to busy!
I've been struck down with yet another virus (pesky kids) and have been feeling really rather down. Maybe it's the weather, maybe it's the job, maybe it's just everything. Not sure.
Anyway work continues on our Dream bedroom and that I can report is looking fantastic!
However it is a little
Am beginning to lose track of where exactly I keep my knickers now and don't ask where my trousers are I've no idea, also the iron............gone!
I need to get back into my own bedroom very soon.
So far this is what we've achieved.
Remove fire P
Strip woodchip off the walls yuk! P
Dip the doorsP
Get a new carpet laidP
New radiatorP

I haven't any photos of the beautiful newly plastered room for you because frankly it's been too grey and dark to take any.

So this is what it all looked like just before the plasterer came.

Would you like a sneaky preview of the decor?
This is the wallpaper for the feature wall behind our bed.
It's called Amelie and it's from Sandberg
Amelie (NW)

The walls are painted with
 Quiet Green

by Valspar which is available from BandQ.
There's a lovely cream carpet on the floor too.
The fly in the ointment is our gorgeous new bed which was supposed to arrive last Monday.
As I type we have no idea when it will turn up, it's nearly been delivered with an upgraded mattress but no, no luck, nothing. Just many, many phone calls and d'you know what is most annoying we've bought it from John Lewis. We expected everything to run smoothly!
Big mistake!
So we wait.
Hmmm that's not helping my mood obviously.
However, apart from that I can't wait to show you the finished result. Lovely man is adapting an old brass light fitting into a stunning shabby chic chandelier, it is amazing!

So hopefully next time I drop by I'll have a new comfy bed in a new gorgeous room, we'll see.
One thing I do know is decorating is never boring.
Have a good week folks.
