Spinning news

Well it's all done now.
800grams of beautiful merino, dyed, spun and plied ready to create a beautiful poncho for Lovely Heather.
The colours are gorgeous, just what she likes I think I shall call it Heather Haze!

I'm really pleased with how it's turned out even if it has taken me longer than I wanted and at times proved a bit of a challenge!
Just need to set the ply, let it dry then pass it over to my Mum to get knitting. This is the pattern she's using very straightforward and relaxing. It's the same as my green poncho.
So I've spent the afternoon soaking and rinsing, lovely relaxing garden job.

Looks lovely laid out in the sun.

Did you spot the stool, did that yesterday afternoon, another lazy, relaxing garden job.
(I love garden jobs)

We've revamped our picnic table and given it a coat of paint.
It's the same as the bench and shelves in our conservatory.

Oh and a new umbrella.

And some table decoration of course.
Let me tell you, all our meals are outside at the moment, bliss.

I'm really pleased with how the garden looks this year, it's a lovely tranquil place to be.
Anyway back to the spinning.
There was as usual some yarn left on the bobbin so I thought I'd have another go at navajo plying.
D'you know I've made an interesting discovery I find that I am navajo plying lefthanded!
Anyway it's all good I'm liking the results very much, it's pretty isn't it.

What a lovely way to spend time. I always feel very calm and chilled when I'm doing anything to do with yarn, don't you?
Here's someone else who's really mastered the art!

Don't know what I shall spin up next.
Any suggestions?
I'm all finished for the summer now so I am going to

  1. that is some pretty yarn... I love the variations in the color. It should knit up really nicely :D

Five Photo Friday

Last weekend saw another trip to the woods,  more beautiful bluebells and wild flowers.  It's so wonderful spending time outside in Nature.

I've also been spinning some gorgeous merino. Nice and thin!

Topped off with a little crochet play in the sunshine. Whilst I recover from my day out in the woods!  Yeah a whole week to get over one trip, Chronic Fatigue is RUBBISH!

Still least I can sit in my beautiful garden. How's your week been, what have you all been making, doing, enjoying? Do tell! Love ♥Sue♥

Five Photo Friday

Half term, it's been too short. It's been all about these gorgeous boys. Beautiful Brodie, two weeks today.

And Finlay the most fantastic two year old EVER! That's true, cos I'm his Nana. ♥
Finlay's birthday cake. Just so you all know, I'm never making a Thomas cake again, fiendishly tricky!

We also spent some time checking out Storm Brian. Very stunning he was too.

That's it, end of another holiday. Roll on Christmas then!!!!! Love ♥Sue♥

Things are looking up!

Well hello! I'm a little bit back and it feels good! So what have I been doing? Weeeeeeel alot of things have happened since we last spoke. Let's have a round up. I spent quite a few months coping with fatigue and depression which meant a bit of a standstill with  pretty much everything. Glum times. Life was quiet, slow, gentle. I had to be careful and kind to myself but gradually I felt better found my energy and got back to normal ish. I found gardening and crochet two of the most therapeutic things to do. But the most restorative activity I've been enjoying is, well take a little look.

The Right Honourable Hector Albert Schnauzer

Possibly the happiest dog in the world.

He certainly make me happy, Who knew I'm a dog person! If you want to reduce your stress levels get a Hector! I thought long and hard before getting him, found a kennel club breeder and have spent a long time socializing and training him, he's been a complete joy so responsive and eager to learn. Just the …
