Holiday fun!

Hello folks, yes I'm back from the East!
Oh what fun we had.
After a long drive from Portsmouth to Aldeburgh it was up early and off out on our bikes to explore.
As you may remember I nearly didn't have a bike to enjoy I can't tell you how delighted I was to have it back, especially as Suffolk is a cycling paradise. Anyway I digress, back to our adventures.
Lovely Man suggested we cycle up the coast via the byways and back lanes.
Here we are checking the way. We did alot of 'checking the way'

Past the Sizewell power station, a strange desolate place but the beach was gorgeous, we just didn't turn round!
Now I just need to inform you that unbeknownst to me I was in fact been eaten alive by the local mosquitoes at this point. Yeh they don't tell you that about Suffolk...........mossie heaven. More about them later!

Still a working beach we watched the fishermen winch their boats up the shingle.

Made it to Walberswick

Obviously needed to take a break
and
'check the way'

Our first windmill, very picturesque.

Across the river and on to Southwold

And there it is lovely Southwold with it's lighthouse tucked in amongst the houses.
Lovely beach with some delightful beach huts which I didn't photograph cos they were occupied and well didn't seem right but let me tell you they were charming each one decorated with the most wonderful beach hut style.

The pier was fantastic.
Including this amazing water clock by Tim Hunkin who's also responsible for the under the pier show which was mad and brilliant!

We were very pleased with our first days exploring.............yup Suffolk looked full of promise

And there were pigs...........happy pigs, grunting and squeaking and rolling in the mud.
We loved the pigs!
So day 1 very marvellous a massive ride of 38 miles!
Aching muscles and the best nights sleep I'd had for a long time!
Now I warn you I have a massive number of photos to share with you all. I'll do it gently over the next few days. Look out for more 'checking the way', cake stops, some more pigs and plenty of fun!
Hope you enjoy them.
Love
♥Sue♥

Things are looking up!

Well hello! I'm a little bit back and it feels good! So what have I been doing? Weeeeeeel alot of things have happened since we last spoke. Let's have a round up. I spent quite a few months coping with fatigue and depression which meant a bit of a standstill with  pretty much everything. Glum times. Life was quiet, slow, gentle. I had to be careful and kind to myself but gradually I felt better found my energy and got back to normal ish. I found gardening and crochet two of the most therapeutic things to do. But the most restorative activity I've been enjoying is, well take a little look.

Meet
The Right Honourable Hector Albert Schnauzer

Possibly the happiest dog in the world.

He certainly make me happy, Who knew I'm a dog person! If you want to reduce your stress levels get a Hector! I thought long and hard before getting him, found a kennel club breeder and have spent a long time socializing and training him, he's been a complete joy so responsive and eager to learn. Just the …

Five Photo Friday

Last weekend saw another trip to the woods,  more beautiful bluebells and wild flowers.  It's so wonderful spending time outside in Nature.

I've also been spinning some gorgeous merino. Nice and thin!

Topped off with a little crochet play in the sunshine. Whilst I recover from my day out in the woods!  Yeah a whole week to get over one trip, Chronic Fatigue is RUBBISH!

Still least I can sit in my beautiful garden. How's your week been, what have you all been making, doing, enjoying? Do tell! Love ♥Sue♥

Five Photo Friday

Half term, it's been too short. It's been all about these gorgeous boys. Beautiful Brodie, two weeks today.

And Finlay the most fantastic two year old EVER! That's true, cos I'm his Nana. ♥
Finlay's birthday cake. Just so you all know, I'm never making a Thomas cake again, fiendishly tricky!

We also spent some time checking out Storm Brian. Very stunning he was too.

That's it, end of another holiday. Roll on Christmas then!!!!! Love ♥Sue♥
