Around the house

Hope you enjoyed a lovely busy crafty weekend,
I found myself last night sat on my sofa with two crochet projects on my lap!
One just finishing except, ran out of yarn.
So I just started another one.
It's true people I am an addict, I can't sit down without a hook in my hand!
Anyway onto other things.
This pretty tin heart hangs in my hallway, a gift from my lovely daughter.
D'you see the hearts behind?
Homemade my friends, cut by my own fair hand from an old map I bought from E-bay.
A gift for my Lovely Man.
The hearts are special places we've been together.

Downstairs in the kitchen. The noticeboard.
 Everyone needs a noticeboard
Is that another old map Susan I hear you ask,
well yes it is,
Got a little carried away on E-Bay
But I love this
my Lovely Man made the frame.
In went the map and we just write on the glass with a whiteboard pen!
Genius!

And my final piece of genius today.
Have you one of those digital photo frames kicking around at home.
Ugly aren't they.
Not mine!
Lovely man made a frame to cover the frame!!!
That wooden frame just pulls off so you can change the card etc.
I've got lots more pictures to put up, disguising the wire even more.
I love the effect.
One minute it's one picture the next it's changed!
Brilliant!

All of this is only possible with the genius of my
 Lovely Man.
He takes my hairbrained ideas and makes them real.
What a lucky lady I am!
Hope you feel lucky
♥Sue♥

Sunday

A beautiful day here in Portsmouth. A hint of Spring in the air and the first outdoor spinning of the year.

It felt good to be outside listening to the birds and soaking up the warm sunshine on the deck.

The cats thought so too! Ghetto having a stretch.

Lord Howard(as he is now known!) relaxing! After an hour sitting in the sunshine it was on with my walking boots and off to the sea.

First stop Milton Common, the sky full of Brent Geese chattering as they flew overhead.

The Solent was particularly sparkly today.

The Hard in Old Portsmouth looked higgledy piggledy and colourful.

Then a final treat as I wandered home, a glorious sunset. A day to lift the spirits and make me glad to be alive! Hope you've all enjoyed a wonderful weekend too. Love ♥Sue♥

Back in the zone

Hello So it's been a while but I think it's safe to say that I'm back in the zone! The spinning wheel is out and I'm loving it. Loving the calm rhythmic movement of fibre flowing through my fingers, watching the bobbins fill with gorgeous colour, enjoying the meditative process that spinning is. I've been spinning some beautiful Alpaca and silk that I dyed AGES ago. It's very soft and fluffy but spins up really well wanting to be thin and sophisticated.

I've also been admiring this beauty, I know a rainbow landed on the rug! It's Milk Fibre, it take dye amazingly well, it's incredibly fine and slippery. I tried spinning it 'neat' but it proved impossible so I'm carding it with Merino.

What do you think?

I'm really pleased, I'm a carding newbie but again it's a wonderful process which I find completely absorbing.

I'm planning on carding each rainbow colour separately I'll let you know how it goes.
So how are you all? Hopefully f…
